According to on-site reports from ITHome on September 29, the iQOO 16 smartphone was launched tonight, featuring the first batch of devices equipped with the 6th generation Snapdragon 8 Super Extreme Edition and a 2K Samsung Everest Display. The retail price starts at 5,999 yuan. During the initial sales period of the iQOO 16, national and local government subsidies are available for a limited time, providing an instant discount of 500 yuan for all versions, making the final price start at 5,499 yuan.

ITHome learned at the launch event that the new phone comes in three color options: "Chasing Light," "Racing Track," and "Legend," with an exterior design that exudes a futuristic sci-fi feel. The "Leading Standard" design features three lenses interconnected in a staggered arrangement, forming a unique triangular structure; a floating appearance is constructed under the Deco glass cover, creating just the right spatial layering between the lenses and the underlying pattern; the large R-angle design seamlessly connects the micro-arc frame and the back panel, offering a comfortable grip.
The new device features a 6.85-inch 2K Samsung Everest display. Its 165Hz ultra-high refresh rate covers the TOP 100 daily applications and is compatible with over 50 popular games. It is the first Android device to feature Samsung's M16 emissive material combined with the 2K LEAD 2.0 process, consuming 31% less power compared to 1.5K screens of similar size; it offers a global peak brightness of 2,800 nits and a local peak brightness of 10,000 nits. Paired with iQOO's in-house Solar algorithm, it delivers vibrant colors and clear details; a new AR anti-glare protective film reduces reflective interference; and an in-house scientific calibration production line ensures more uniform brightness and color.
Additionally, the unpolarized natural light display makes the screen's light emission closer to natural light; it supports full-brightness DC dimming and high-frequency PWM dimming up to 3,300Hz. It is the industry's first to offer anti-glare protection for gaming, ensuring gaming image quality while protecting eyesight.
In terms of performance, the new device is among the first to feature the 6th generation Snapdragon 8 Super Extreme Edition. The 2nm process brings improved performance and energy efficiency, achieving a 5.57 million score in the AnTuTu lab. The new phone is equipped with a massive 8,500mm² single-layer VC (Vapor Chamber) heat spreader, and a new 3D high-density structure brings the VC closer to the core heat sources; it features three layers of ultra-large, high-thermal-conductivity graphite, with a total area of up to 29,453mm². The new device integrates the all-new Monster Super-Nucleus Engine, and it is the industry's first to embed the in-house Super-Nucleus scheduler into the Monster Super-Nucleus Engine, significantly reducing stutter.
The new device is the industry's first to feature Q-flex control technology. It underwent specialized optimization for high-frequency operation scenarios, reducing sliding latency by up to 28% before comparison capability activation. It features the all-new super-sensitive touch chip, with a peak instantaneous touch sampling rate of 5,000Hz and a peak multi-touch sampling rate of 500Hz. The all-new super-sensitive gyroscope features a sampling rate of up to 500Hz, and iQOO's custom high-precision gyroscope calibrator allows for unit-by-unit calibration.
The new device is the first to feature the in-house gaming chip Q4. It supports ray tracing in all scenarios and innovatively introduces virtual point light sources and HDR processes, making light, shadow, and colors more diverse and realistic. The QNSS Super Rendering Engine significantly improves the results of 2K native super-resolution, making the image clearer and more realistic.
The new device supports concurrent 2K+165-frame super-resolution and high refresh rate for six popular mobile games. Eleven mobile games have built-in QNSS super-resolution and high refresh rate support; 13 popular mobile games support 2K native super-resolution; and hundreds of games support the 165-frame high refresh rate. It exclusively supports concurrent triple visual effects for three popular mobile games in the industry. Additionally, the new device offers features like the 8K game camera and game live-streaming assistant, meeting the needs of gaming streamers.
The new device features the Monster MAX dual-axis vibration motor with an oversized 091640 specification; the War Drum Master Symmetric Dual Speakers Pro uses 1511 speakers at both the top and bottom, with the rear cavity volume increased by 17% for richer bass; the custom War Drum Bass Enhancement phone case further enhances bass performance; and it is the industry's first to feature "Voice Bubble" game sound effects, which reduce environmental noise.
In terms of imaging, the new device upgrades to a super-sensitive 1/1.3-inch large-sensor main camera. Compared to the iQOO 15 Ultra, light intake is increased by 79%, significantly improving low-light performance. It features the latest NICE 3.0 optical reconstruction engine from the "Blue Factory" (vivo's internal code name) and the in-house Super Light and Shadow HDR process. Additionally, the new device is equipped with a 50MP Sony super telephoto camera with a periscope lens, compatible with CIPA 5.0 professional-grade stabilization. It offers several classic film styles, including "Original Color," "Chasing Light," and "Rich," which are the same as those in the Blue Factory's flagship models. The 4K Ultra-Clear Live feature supports re-selecting cover frames and overlaying multiple imaging styles.
The new device is the first to feature OriginOS 7. The Atomic Workbench supports opening five applications on the same screen, and the "Little V" dynamic widgets support generating personalized widgets for learning tools, event reminders, and entertainment with a single command.
In terms of battery and endurance, the new device is equipped with an 8,400mAh Blue Sea large battery, supporting 100W wired charging, 40W wireless charging, and global direct drive power supply.
