Continental, a major automotive supplier, has unveiled a truly unique way for drivers to personalize their interiors utilizing what it calls a high-impact dashboard display that utilizes E Ink technology. This isn't a full-blown backlit display, but a new technology that is able to change its design using brief pulses of electricity to change its look, something we've seen BMW play with on its iX crossover in the past.
Spanning the entire dashboard on its display model, the technology allows drivers to not only create different designs to personalize their car more but also write display information for the occupants. You can even add in different looks depending on the drive mode or the driver, all while consuming very little power and being extremely modular depending on the vehicle. We like the idea. Fewer screens, more E Ink.
